Monday, August 30th, 2010--Little Red Riding Hood #1 Little Red  Riding Hood (LRRH) spends the weekend at her grandma's house where she practices cooking and baking. On this particular Friday, she leaves home with a basket of apples. Enroute to grandma's, she crosses the river three times on narrow bridges. At each crossing, she's met by a troll who says,"Little Red Riding Hood, give me one half of all your apples, plus one half of one apple." "What if I don't?" said LRRH? "Well, I'll eat you!" said each troll. After looking at each troll and considering that, indeed, each of them could easily end her life, she decides to grant their requests. When she arrives at grandma's house, she has NO apples left in the basket. How many apples did she start out with. Hint--draw a sketch, trial and error or work backwards:-)
